General Volunteer Positions Include:

  • Athlete Check-In/Registration - Aid in the athlete check-in process. Some competitions do have on-site registration for athletes which would require the handling of money.
  • Start Line - Assist in the organization of the start area.
  • Aid Station - Provide aid (water, course direction) to the athletes along the course.
  • Course Marshals - Provide direction for athletes while maintaining highest levels of safety.
  • Gatekeepers - Serve as an official on the course, noting participants who miss course checkpoints.
  • Finish Line - Assist in the recording of finishers. Assist athletes in the finish area. Help post results.
  • Awards - Assist in the distribution of medals.

Volunteer Requirements:

  • No experience is necessary.
  • Most volunteer assignments are outdoors. You must be able to work outside for several hours at a time.
  • Volunteers must provide their own transportation and housing.
  • Volunteers must be 16 years of age OR have adult supervision.
